What you need to know >>> Aroldis Chapman, Cubs Pitcher, just saved his team Sunday night, in Game 5 of the World Series. He got pulled in from the bullpen early (in the 7th inning) to protect his team’s one run lead. Game 6 is tonight, Tues Nov 1 in Cleveland.

“When Joe Maddon (Cubs manager) walked out to the mound in the seventh inning Sunday night, pointed his left hand to the bullpen, and summoned hell and fire and filth and chaos into the fifth game of the World Series, you felt things. You felt confidence. You felt fear. You felt like you were seeing baseball players pushed to the brink of their abilities, and that something just might snap. You felt like a manager was choosing this moment to make a final stand… When Chapman came in, it meant that the Cubs would push this back to Cleveland for a sixth game, or the Indians would at least have to produce an instant classic to seal the victory. He saved not only the Cubs but the Series itself.” – from ESPN.com, read the full article here.

It's all about pine cones this Fall! While searching for the perfect pine cone image for the November Wallpaper, I came across the simple & stunning photography blog - STILL - by Mary Jo Hoffman. She posts one image daily of gathered natural objects found near her home or in during her travels.

Fall Style Trends - November

November Fashion Style Board.jpg

Hello November! I like to call it LA's clearest month. Bring on the pine cones, puffer vests, and fuzzy blanket scarves. The rain + wind combo wipes away the smog, snow appears on the mountain range near Big Bear, and you can make out Downtown, the Hollywood sign and Catalina from nearly anywhere. It makes LA seem so much smaller! Here are a few cozy finds to warm you up, including a pair of Banana Republic skinny jeans (available in Tall, yes!), comfy-chic Nikes to go with any pair of leggings, and a DIY silver pine cone garland project for when you just want to stay in, make homemade chili, and have a New Girl marathon.

Fall Style Trends - October

The color "Bright Pumpkin Orange" holds a special place in my heart – go Tennessee Vols! I proudly wore that Orange for 4 years straight while playing Volleyball at UT (Insert flashback of our team traveling in airports wearing bright orange adidas track suits from head to toe.) And this Fall I'll be waving that bright checkered flag every Saturday, it's our football team's best season yet since I went there (long ago) when we won the National Championship. All that said, I definitely prefer the warm, neutral & more subtle colors for October, paired with black & a bit of sparkle :) I came across the two pumpkin-painting DIY projects above on Pinterest, and they both happen to be from the uber-talented Amy of Homey Oh My. Can't wait to try my hand at these! At the Manhattan Hometown Fair this past weekend I fell in love with a few suede lariat choker necklaces at the Arts & Crafts booths, so I'm sharing a similar one here. Also I'm so excited about Slate & Stone's new women's collection, how cozy does that cream & black striped sweater above look! And if you're a tall girl like me, you'll appreciate these chic & comfy flats by Aldo that come in size 10 & 11 (I'm a not so perfect 10.5, an impossible size to find, and Aldo's size 10 actually fits me quite nicely). And finally, I came across a new brand "Blacktop" via Instagram who is in the midst of launching their Etsy shop filled with candles, bracelets & more to come. I have a total crush on their logo/branding, and especially their Instagram page! Hope you enjoy :)
